29 days of November - The Chambers' Chronicles

Published Dec 20, 2008 at 20:37
This fall has been a very unique experience for me. Normally I spend my fall and winter up in the Northwest Territories working in the exploration industry looking for diamonds. With the unfortunate market crash, there has been a shortage of work for me. So what do you do when that happens? Ride your bike everyday.

This fall has been incredible. Perfect weather, perfect conditions and all the time in the world. This November I rode my mountain bike 29 out of the 30 days, and it has been the most incredible month of my life.

Sol Vista G3 MSC, Let me tell you about a good time

Published Sep 7, 2008 at 18:46
My travels took me from Port Angeles Washington, where I hit up the Fluid Ride race, to Sol Vista Colorado for a Mountain State Cup. This didn't and wasn't going to happen without a stop in Crested Butte for some more good times with the radest folk in town.

Two days always goes by too quickly, but we managed to fit in an epic ride from the top...Red lady that is!

FluidrideCup #4 Port Angeles, Washington.

Fluidride Cup #4 Port Angeles. Dry hill, sloppy wet!

After my double right side spanking a little while ago, I wasn't really sure how quickly my body was going to bounce back. It felt like one of those injuries that was going to be with me for a long time. Well with a lot of rest, great physio and loads of acupuncture I'm feeling like my a million bucks again. Once I was back on the pony (my kick ass Devinci Wilson), I was back to life...and couldn't sit still...as usual. So with that said, I hit the road in search of more good times. I looked and I found. I loaded my car to the tits, said goodbye to Nelson once again for another undetermined length of time and hit the road. I eventually made my way to Whistler for some pre-Crankworx riding/fun, but not without a stop in Revelstoke for a few days of incredible riding. Thanks for all the fun Revy crew!!

Double right side spanking - Derek Chambers' early season report.

Published Jul 10, 2008 at 13:11
I feel like I've been kicked by a donkey and then hit by a car...both times on my right side. Here is the story of my double right side spanking.

I spent my winter snowshoeing around the Canadian arctic, exploring for diamonds. My days where spent hiking by myself through deep snow in ridiculously cold conditions, then spending my nights hanging out in my tent flying my toy helicopter (air hogs for life!). My chopper was my greatest form of amusement and my most reliable distraction to keep me from constantly thinking about riding my bike (and girls).
